In general, a Dial-up PPP Account refers to a type of account that allows you to use your personal computer and a modem to dial into the Parallax Systems computer server, which in turn connects you to the Internet.

PPP stands for Point-to-Point Protocol, and is the technical name for the message formatting rules that the computers on the Internet use to communicate with each other. When your computer is connected to our network using PPP, it automatically receives a unique Internet number (IP address) which in turn enables it to be uniquely identified by all of the other machines connected to the Internet.

To avoid long distance phone charges, we have established local dial in modem numbers to the areas listed to the right.
